Citation Management Systems

A citation management system allows you to save citations from research databases or websites. They can help you stay organized in your research. Some programs will even format your cites into Bluebook style. 

PowerNotes, Zotero, RefWorks, and Mendeley are all examples of citation management systems to which you have access.

Keeping a Research Log

As you work, it can be easy to lose track of what terms you've searched and where. (And before you know it, it's 2 AM and you're running the same searches that didn't work two hours ago! Been there. 0/10 would not recommend.) 

If you keep a list of the terms and synonyms you've searched for and in what databases you ran the searches, you won't have to retrace your steps, and you'll be able to see what terms yielded the most useful results.
