Citation - Code

You recall from the Slip Laws vs. Session Laws vs. Codes page that U.S.C. is a topical arrangement of federal statutes. Thus, if you already know the code citation (e.g. 17 U.S.C. § 303), you can locate your code section by

  • Browsing the code (i.e. go to Title 17 and then look for section 303) OR
  • Typing the citation in the database's search box. (type 17 U.S.C. 303) (you don't need to enter the section symbol)
