Library Resources for Incoming Law Students

Study Aids

Resources for the first-year courses (and many upper-level courses) are available in the Reserve Room, located next to the circulation desk. Specifically, the study resources are located in the first two shelves in the Reserve Room.

To locate additional resources, search the law library's catalog or browse the shelves in the Reserve Room using the following call number ranges:

  • Legal Research & Writing (Lawyering Process): KF 240 - 251

Online Study Aids

Law students may access nutshells, outlines, practice tests, and other study material published by West Academic or Thomson Reuters via West Academic Study Aids Subscription.

How to Access West Academic Study Aids

If you are on campus, you may access West Academic study aids at subscription.westacademic.com. Alternatively, you may go to the law library database page and select Westlaw Study Aids.

If you are off campus, you may access West Academic study aids via My BoydLaw. Click Menu (top-left corner) and Library. Then select Westlaw Study Aids (appearing in the Study Aids section of the BSL Database Subscription page)

 

Law students may access study aids published by Wolters Kluwer via Aspen Learning Library

This is the landing page you see when you log in to Aspen Learning Library. Type a subject matter such as Torts or Contracts in the search bar to locate the Aspen Learning study aids on those subjects.

 

How to Access Aspen Learning Library

If you are on campus, you may access Aspen Learning Library at https://ebooks.aspenlaw.com. Alternatively, you may go to the law library database page and select Aspen Learning Library.

If you are off campus, you may access Aspen Learning Library via MyBoydLaw. Click Menu (top-left corner) and Library. Then click on the Aspen Learning Library link in the BSL Databases Subscriptions section.

LexisNexis Digital Library provides access to study aids published by Carolina Academic Press and LexisNexis. To access, go to the law library database list within the MyBoydLaw Portal and select the LexisNexis Digital Library under the Study Aids heading.
